EYES UP PHONES DOWN:At Fitchburg State University, our Social Media, Public Relations, and Advertising class collaborated in three teams to develop a cohesive pedestrian safety campaign aimed at reducing distracted walking and driving. The campaign was created in partnership with the Worcester County District Attorney’s Office. I chose to work on the Public Relations team to gain a different perspective on media communication. Together, we developed four key objectives: empower, promote, increase engagement, and connect with our audience. My role focused on helping write a press release that established the foundational messaging and information for the Eys Up Phones Down campaign.

I also had the opportunity to interview Worcester County District Attorney Joseph D. Early Jr. as part of the campaign development process. In this role, I served as the lead interviewer, crafting and guiding the questions to help shape his key messaging. I then curated his responses and integrated them into the press release to strengthen the campaign’s credibility and overall message.
